Old Salt’s 2018

Our thanks to the regatta staff and other volunteers, the luau crew and the US Coast Guard for the very well-run 70th anniversary Old Salts Regatta.

The Tiki won 9 events, the Scuttle-Off and, most importantly, the Joe Bjorkman Sportsmanship Trophy.

Congrats to the other crews for all of their successes. We saw strong competition and good sportsmanship throughout the day.

The Tiki won Knots, Compass and Sailing ID with 100% (some tied with other crews). The girls also won Mariner Quiz, Pulling Boat Flotilla Drill, First Aid, Bosun's Chair, Marlinspike and Drill.

Tiki placed top five in 18 of 19 events. Our new sailing crew placed an amazing second. We were beat by 2 seconds in the Regatta Relay by Challenger (those guys are fast!).
